Frequently Asked Questions

Which carriers are compatible with mtogo service?
As of July 1, 2004, mtogo supports AT&T Wireless, Cingular Wireless, T-Mobile, Verizon Wireless and Sprint PCS.

How do I know if I can download contents from mtogo?
First, make sure your phone is listed among serviceable phones. mtogo does not guarantee successful delivery of our contents to the phones not listed there. Also, your service plan should allow wireless internet for the content download to work. mtogo urges you to download a test ringtone and a test image to ensure the compatibility of your handset and price plan with mtogo's service.

What should I do when the download was unsuccessful?
Do not order the same content again. If you did not get the SMS notification, first try resending the SMS from order history screen under Account menu. Some of common reasons the download fails are user mistakes, lack of wireless internet access, and content size error.

Is the ordered content available for download forever?
No. Once you order a content, it'll be available for download for three days. If you failed to receive order confirmation SMS message, you can go to Order History' section of your account and resend the SMS within three days. To resolve other technical issues regarding your order and download, please email support@mtogo.com within three days of the original order. Be sure to describe in detail the nature of the difficulties.

Why do Nextel phones not work with mtogo?
mtogo is an independent content provider, and Nextel has blocked your phone from downloading contents from third-party content providers.

How long does it take to download a content?
On average, the confirmation SMS arrives within a minute. It takes about a minute to load our WAP page listing available contents for download. The actual download also takes about a minute per content, but it depends on the network and content size too.

Does mtogo serve monophonic ringtones?
No. The trend is moving toward polyphonic ringtones, and most of the new phones on the market are equipped to play polyphonic ringtones.

How private is my credit card infomation?
After a secure credit card transaction is cleared, mtogo does not keep credit card information. Also, credit card information is kept private by SSL(Secure Socket Layer) connection during transaction.

Will I incur any fees other than the price of my purchased item?
It depends on whether you have wireless internet as part of your mobile service plan. If you do, there should not be any additional fees. If not, some carriers will charge you a small fee based on the size (in bytes) of your purchased item.
